Disclaimer

The GutSee mobile application is intended for informational, entertainment, and research purposes only. This mobile application is for use by patients, researchers, and clinicians participating in the IBD Tracker study only. We do not intend that the GutSee mobile application is used in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease. Clinicians that are part of the IBD Tracker study team should continue to provide standard care and exercise their own independent clinical judgement when treating patients that are participating in the IBD Tracker study.

Privacy Policy

GutSee is a mobile application intended for use by participants in the IBD Tracker clinical study only. Study participants will be provided with unique login credentials required to access the app for the duration of the study. No other users can access the app.

If you are a study participant, when you log into and use the GutSee app, we will collect the data that you enter into the app (including your responses to the Simple Clinical Colitis Activity Index (SCCAI) or Harvey-Bradshaw Index (HBI) and wellness questionnaire; if your medication has changed; the sample ID from the scanned QR code if you submitted a sample) and also the time and date that you were active on the app.

Your data will only be used in the IBD Tracker clinical study. Your disease activity and wellness scores are a way for us to track your symptoms and determine whether we should ask you to visit the clinic (so that you can submit other kinds of samples). We can also use this data to see how the disease activity of the entire IBD Tracker study cohort changes over time. We will use submitted sample IDs from your scanned QR codes to track your samples and make sure they have been safely received. When you install the app, it will work with your phone calendar to help you complete your questionnaires and submit samples weekly. You will receive a reminder in the app if you are late in submitting a sample.

The data that we collect from the app is coded and will not be linked with anything that can identify you. This data will be stored on your phone, and also on our secure Amazon Web Services server. Only authorized researchers can access the data collected by the app. If you withdraw from the IBD Tracker study, you can request to withdraw your data too, and we will destroy this information.
